Walking In Step with the Spirit
Feb 18th - April 11th
Life in the Spirit is about learning to walk with God, not just believe in Him. In this season of prayer and fasting, we’re creating room to hear the Spirit, follow His lead, and move together toward Easter.

What is lent?
Lent is a historic season in the Church that invites us into prayer, fasting, and honest self-examination as we prepare for Easter. It’s a time to join Jesus in the wilderness—releasing what no longer gives life and allowing God to renew and realign us, a kind of soul-level spring cleaning.
This year at Victory, we’re entering this ancient rhythm together as part of our Life in the Spirit journey, learning to walk more attentively and obediently with the Holy Spirit.
The History Behind Lent
Lent grew out of the prayer and fasting practices of the earliest Christians as they prepared for Easter. (The word Lent means “spring”.) In its current form, it has been practiced for over 1,700 years across the global Church.
Today, churches from many traditions—including a growing number of non-denominational churches—are rediscovering Lent as a meaningful season of prayer, renewal, and spiritual formation.

We equip all generations to take one step closer to christ.

How to Participate
Pray
Begin by talking with God about what He’s inviting you to focus on during this season. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your attention, shape your desire, and lead you step by step.
Plan
Lent is most meaningful when it’s intentional. Take time to prepare—consider your schedule, choose simple practices, and decide how you’ll create space for prayer and reflection in the weeks ahead.
Practice
This season invites us to act—through fasting, weekly practices, and consistent worship. Join us by engaging the practices we provide each week and gathering together for worship, including Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
