As I write this, I’m sitting in the Auditorium at the Oklahoma City Campus praying and watching people from our church family seek God, cry out to Him, pursue Him, and make connection to the one true God. It is an incredible sight to see. I'm not sure what you are believing God for as you fast and pray during this 21-day fast. Perhaps for you, it is simply an action to get closer to God and tether yourself to the Anchor more so than ever before. Or perhaps you have found yourself close to letting go and giving up on life or a situation. Or maybe you have financial hardship, relational tension, your marriage is broken, or you’re fasting on behalf of your children or someone you know. I felt impressed by God to reach out to you and tell you to NOT GIVE UP.
Sunday, my wife texted me a picture of a note that my 7-year-old daughter wrote to me. I attached it to this email so you could see it.
I’m not exactly sure why she wrote the last part. Maybe it was something she heard someone say in VKids on Sunday, or perhaps God was speaking through her to encourage and lift me up. Who knows? But it just reminded me that sometimes we need a simple encouragement from those around us. And many times, the person saying it is more important than what they’re actually saying!
My word for you as you read this is, “Don’t give up.” No matter what you’re going through, or what you will go through this year in 2015, DO NOT GIVE UP! I was reading this morning and came across this verse that I hope lifts you up:
In this fast you’re doing, in your pursuit of God, in your marriage, in your job, in your finances, in your life…DO NOT GIVE UP!
Do not miss this Sunday. We start our series, LIVE MOVE BE. Everything we’ve done up to this point, and everything we will do moving forward as individuals and as a church, centers around the concepts, scriptures, and thoughts from this series.
