Doctrine In The Dirt

Some of the most powerful moments in Jesus’ time on earth were in the moments when He knelt down in the dirt. He knelt on his knees on a dirty floor to wash the dirty feet of the disciples.  He spit in the dirt and made mud to rub in a blind man’s eyes.  He knelt in the dirt of the garden to pray in His time of agony, pain and despair.   He knelt and drew in the dirt when the adulterous woman was to be stoned challenging those in their judgement towards her. Even Jesus coming to the earth is symbolic of Him leaving heaven and coming down to earth to redeem us in our dirtiness, in our shame and in our sin.  Join us in this series as we take a look at moments when Jesus knelt to show us His love, His compassion, and His leadership from the dirt.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
